Providers may not be purposefully saving their work/pending orders for greater than 24 hours. There are a large number of orders that have been pended across facilities for greater than 24 hours. Saved work (pended orders) are not active orders and need to be signed to be active.
Save Your Work
Click Save Work to save a draft of the orders and sign them later. The orders are not authorized and other clinicians can’t act on them. They don’t appear on the MAR. 11
Sign Saved Work
1. On the Orders tab of the sidebar, under the Saved Work heading, click.
2. On the Review Unsigned Orders window, do one of the following:
- To sign or modify the saved orders, click Manage this unsigned work. The orders appear in the sidebar. Finish entering order details and click Sign.
- If you no longer need the saved orders, click Delete this unsigned work. Note: This button doesn’t delete existing orders. It only deletes the changes to the orders.
Clinicians, such as medical students, can write, modify, and discontinue orders for you to review. Their saved work appears in the Orders activity and you can manage or delete it just like your own saved work.
