Important Reminders About Surgical Orders

As we near our go-live date of September 30, there will be several changes to the process for submitting orders related to surgical cases.

Please remember:

• Surgical orders for September 30 and beyond must be electronic, including for surgeries that are already scheduled
• Paper orders already submitted for surgeries that are scheduled after September 30 will not be converted
• Providers will have access to Epic on September 30 to enter all necessary surgical orders
• Note – the ‘Case Request Order’ does not need to be submitted for cases scheduled prior to go-live on September 30. The above applies to Preop, Intraop, and Postop (clinical) orders.
